It began the same old way, the way our elders knew,
An arranged little meeting, and a love that grew.

Two families met with kindness and grace,
And a warm yes found its place.
A little giggle, a twinkle in the eye,
And a quiet “Well… let’s give this a try.”

Numbers were shared, and we sent a simple “hi”,
A tiny word, yet it made our hearts fly.

And slowly, day by day, the words found their way,
And we learned something new about each other each day.

We lived far apart, but our hearts stayed near,
Each “good night” softly said, “I wish you were here.”

Then we met at last, a wish, a show, a treat,
Two hearts, in a moment, skipping a beat.
Lots of shy smiles, and a day that flew,
Wishing the clock would stand still too.

The hours slipped by, so very fast,
We stood side by side, wishing it would last.
Destiny smiled and delayed our goodbye,
Gifting us hours beneath the same sky.

Rings were exchanged with blessings all around,
While secret hand-holds and glances made no sound.

The stars aligned, we found our date,
And a wedding was set. We couldn’t wait!

Months to go until we’d meet again,
We missed each other, but smiled even then,
Counting the days, one by one,
Telling the clock, “Hurry up, run!”

We talked for hours, night after night,
Dozing off mid-call, with the phone held tight.

So today, with the blessings of all of you,
And the Lord himself to bless us too,

We say yes to forever, hand in hand,
Two hearts, one home, just as planned.
With your blessings, we have the perfect start,
You’re part of our story, and part of our heart.
